Who is Copper Still?

Copper Still is a company dedicated to bringing the finest bourbon experiences to Kiwis. We specialise in everything bourbon, from sourcing and supplying premium bottles, to running tastings, events, and educational experiences. Our mission is to share bourbon’s rich history and flavour with New Zealand, one glass at a time.

Is bourbon the same as whiskey?

All bourbon is whiskey, but not all whiskey is bourbon.

To be called bourbon, it must:

  • Be made in the USA
  • Contain at least 51% corn in the mash bill
  • Be aged in new, charred oak barrels
  • Be distilled to no more than 80% ABV (160 proof)
  • Be bottled at no less than 40% ABV (80 proof)

Do you ship nationwide?

Yes, we ship throughout New Zealand. Delivery times vary by location, but most orders arrive within 2–5 working days.

What’s the best way to enjoy bourbon?

It’s up to you! Bourbon can be enjoyed neat, with a splash of water, over ice, or in classic cocktails like an Old Fashioned or Mint Julep. We also provide tasting notes for each bottle to help you discover your perfect serve.

How should I store my bourbon?

Keep it upright in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Bourbon doesn’t spoil after opening, but its flavour is best within a couple of years once opened.

Do you offer bourbon tastings or events?

Absolutely. We run bourbon tastings, private events, and masterclasses for groups, venues, and corporate functions. We can also tailor experiences to suit your audience.

Can you recommend food pairings for bourbon?

Bourbon pairs beautifully with barbecue, smoked meats, dark chocolate, and rich cheeses. We also host pairing events to help you discover your favourites.
